I'm living on "Laundry Lane" tonight lol I have just started the 6th load and have at least 2, maybe 3 more to go. I'm totally convinced that someone snuck in yesterday and added their laundry in with mine lol I mean seriously where does it all come from?
Do any of ya'll watch American Dreams? I watch it faithfully every Sunday, and I tell you tonight I have bawled my eyes out! JJ, the oldest son is being shipped to Vietnam and tonight was the episode where he's getting on the bus to go after being home on his 2 week visit home. Chantaye wasn't quite sure what to make of me sitting over there crying, she kept asking if I was ok and what happened to make me cry lol poor kid, when I explained that I was crying over the show she just shook her head and rolled her eyes at me lol
I don't know how ya'll do it, stay caught up on everything..I am always behind on something! We don't usually do our Christmas shopping until like December 23rd, but this year we decided to try something new lol but I swear it seems I have fallen further behind on everything else. I'm behind on emails, graphics, web-site updates and all sorts of stuff, shoot I haven't even made out my card list yet, the only thing I haven't fallen way behind on is reading lol I guess since that's one of my life-long passions it's easier to resist slacking ;) I've said for months that I was gonna get serious about losing weight, but I haven't done that yet either. I need ya'll to send me some of your motivation and organization abilities and then maybe I could get it together ;) lol
1. How many people and pets live in your home?
5 people in the house, 1 dog outside2. Do you rent, own or live at home?
rent for now3. How many rooms are in your house?
there are 4 bedrooms, I think 8 rooms altogether4. Is there enough room in your house to comfortably accommodate overnight guests?
nope lol we've managed a couple of times tho. Before Angela was born her room was the guest room5. How close do your neighbors live? Do you know them well and are they welcome in your home?
We only have 1 close neighbor, there are a few others up the road but we don't even know their names, since we don't know them I'm not sure how we would feel about a visit, most of them we couldn't even tell you if they are men or women.Posted by Aretha @ 09:30 PM CST [Link]

Today has been a mighty busy shopping day here. We took 'Taye & Bradley to the farm to stay with Greg's grandparents and took Angela with us (no one to watch her) and we have almost totally finished our shopping. We got all the kids gifts with the exception of getting 1 more each for Angela & Bradley to make it even, so now the only shopping we have left to do is of course the hardest, we have to get stuff for each other and for our anniversary. We are lucky that Angela won't remember what we got anyone including herself lol. We just got in a couple of minutes ago and now that the kids are all in bed we have to bring the stuff in and get it hid, thank goodness Greg's car has a big trunk lol
I'm off to play the little hiding elf lol Oh!! I did find me the most adorable pair of flannel jammies! they are blue with clouds and halos and say "Goodnight Angel" all over them ;)Posted by Aretha @ 11:34 PM CST [Link]

Well it's official winter has hit the south! It started snowing today and has snowed off and on most all day but didn't stick. Mom came out to eat and as she was leaving the snow was starting to stick to our trucks & car, well then Greg & Waymond went to rent some games and stuff and when they got back all the vehicles had a pretty good coating. We aren't supposed to get any accumulation, but everytime they say no accumulation is when we end up with a doozy! lolI finally got all the cooking done and we were just sitting down to eat a little after 3, I still can't believe it took all day, but it would've been done much earlier if Greg hadn't decided to put up a cabinet in the kitchen, I swear men mean well but they have the funniest timing for things lol
I'm probably gonna head to bed, well ok couch lol and rest. I tell ya all the cooking has just got me worn out. We are planning to try and go shopping in Chattanooga tommorrow and I'm gonna need plenty of energy for that.
1. Do you like to shop? Why or why not?
Sometimes I do, but the crowds get to me pretty quickly2. What was the last thing you purchased?
Hmm, probably groceries & Greg's mom's Christmas gift3. Do you prefer shopping online or at an actual store? Why?
Both actually, online I don't have to fight crowds, but in the stores I can try stuff on or just make sure it's really what I want4. Did you get an allowance as a child? How much was it?
Sometimes, I can't remember how much, basically I just got money when I asked for it5. What was the last thing you regret purchasing?
Hmm...probably a book that turned out to be kinda odd the wall and pretty boring lol It sounded good but it was set in the future and that annoyed mePosted by Aretha @ 06:57 PM CST [Link]

So how was everyone's Thanksgiving? I hope everyone had a wonderful day!
We didn't do alot today, we haven't felt real swift so we weren't real ambitious lol
We went into town and hit Blockbuster to grab a few movies thinking we would beat most folks there but alot were already gone, but we managed to find a few. Greg is watching The Matrix-Reloaded, we already watched Finding Nemo, yes we both cried lol I have Legally Blonde 2 to watch after bit but I can stay awake longer than Greg lolWe went to mom's a little after 2 to eat just a little with her, and to give me enough energy so I could come home and start cooking lol
I've managed to make 2 skillets of cornbread for the dressing, and I'm waiting on the skillet to cool off so I can wash it yet again and then get the dressing mixed up and put in the oven. We have the turkey all buttered up and stuff and ready to stick in the oven when the dressing is done, I'm almost afraid to even think about having to put that bird in by myself, Greg went a tad overboard and got a 19lb. this year, and I know he will be asleep when it's time to start baking it.I know my Tattle answers will probably be worlds different than anyone elses, but I have a strange family I guess, and even stranger since tomorrow is our big dinner.
Share how your Thanksgiving went.
Pretty calm and quiet so far, tomorrow is the big day hereTell us what you ate.
turkey, dressing, tater salad, pintos & yamsTell us something funny that happened.
When we were starting to get our turkey buttered up here tonight, I don't know but there's something rather amusing about me having to put butter on the inside of the turkey and Greg just dies in a fit of giggles lol maybe it's the faces I make while I'm "invading" the bird roflTell us something touching that happened.
Greg had a surprise for me this morning, he had got me another necklace. It was just to say thank you and that he loves me is what he told me when I asked him why and what had I done to deserve this. He is absolutely the sweetest man on earth!Posted by Aretha @ 08:16 PM CST [Link]

I don't really have alot to write tonight, but I didn't want to go to bed without posting. I guess I really should be cooking but I just don't have the heart to even get started. I don't usually tell alot of personal things here, but tonight I have to get it off my chest.
My mom is kinda irritated at me, at least that's the way I see it because we cancelled the order and are cooking, I just can't win for losing lately. I've had mom working on my uncle for a couple of weeks now trying to get him to come by or at least let me take him a plate of food, well she talked to him today I guess it was and he said no again. I had told her that if he just didn't want to see me to say so and I would stop asking, well he says that's not it, and he doesn't want me to have hurt feelings, how am I supposed to feel tho, I've seen him one time in 2 years or longer and that was at the funeral home. I really don't know what to think or say anymore, I told her she could let him know that my feelings are hurt and that I won't ask again. I'm more hurt than anything, alot more than I thought I would be, you'd think at my age I could handle rejection better, but I guess I'm just a big baby or something I don't know.I told Greg that maybe we should consider going to Pennsylvania for Christmas, it's not exactly first on my list of things to do but maybe we could find something to make the trip more exciting.
I hope ya'll have a wonderful & loving Thanksgiving!

Well what a day this has been lol I've been grumbling and complaining about all the cooking I was gonna have to do for Thanksgiving, I know the complaining is nothing new lol Today Greg finally got tired of listening to me and he called and ordered a dinner leaving me with only having to make enough dressing and tater salad for us 4. (Bradley won't eat dressing or tater salad lol) I talked to mom and told her that we had just ordered it well then she gets annoyed with me and said she had bought a small turkey breast today, well a small breast ain't gonna be enough to feed them and all 5 of us, unless we only eat once lol I finally broke down and told Greg to cancel the order that I will just cook and get it over with, but there will be no special requests it will be my menu and that's it lol We assumed his grandparents would end up being here since their car messed up on them, but he called and they are gonna drive their truck over to his dad's so that brings my cooking total down a bit, Waymond will probably show tho since his mom has to work and won't be having a dinner at all, and I doubt that my uncle and cousin will show up because they usually go hunting and I haven't been able to convince them yet unfortunately.
We have a busy day tomorrow, we have to go do all the Friday stuff, and get the groceries and hopefully I'll get to do a bit of shopping ;) I don't have a clue what to get anyone this year, but at least I can help Greg figure out what to get me right? rofl
I'm awful I know, but I just gotta find me some more jammies lolPosted by Aretha @ 10:30 PM CST [Link]

What a day! I didn't sleep 2 minutes last night and I've barely stretched out today.
Greg called this morning before he got home and told me to get my butt outside, it was snowing! course I didn't believe him, but I went and looked anyway and it was absolutely fogging it down! It didn't stick or anything which is definitely a good thing since we were driving my truck to head to Wal-Mart. I swear I will never understand the weather, it's 70 one day and in the 20's the next, 29 right now to be exact according to Wunderground.
I really need to make a page and add a weather pixie and a weather thingy here on the blog.My mom's Dr. called her Friday and told her she didn't need to wait until the 2nd to come in for her appointment, she needed to come today and discuss the pathology results. I just got off the phone with her a few minutes ago, and she told me that they didn't get all of the cancer. They are making her an appointment with another Dr. in Cookeville because she needs another surgery and the regular dr. isn't comfortable doing it. I am worried that they are not telling her the whole story, or she's not telling me one. Mom says she has no idea when she will be going to see this new guy, I can't understand why something like this has to wait ya know, why can't they just do something now instead of taking their own sweet time...
Sorry for such a down post, my heart and mind are just overflowing right now with so much emotion.

I'm hoping wind is the only weather icon I need tonight, but we are supposed to have some serious storms rolling in and the wind is already blowing limbs off the trees on the roof *sigh* have I mentioned I hate weather like this when Greg's not home? lol I think I saw a flash of lightning out the corner of my eye, so I'm gonna make this super short!1. How do you usually spend your Thanksgiving Day?
The past few years I've spent the majority of the day in the kitchen lol My mom, her hubby, Greg's grandparents & Waymond usually come have dinner with us2. Do you have the traditional turkey dinner or something else?
I don't know how "traditional" it is, but we have turkey, dressing, tater salad, rolls, green beans, pinto beans, peach cobbler, at least 1 kind of pie, mac & cheese, yams, and whatever else might get requested3. What is your favorite Thanksgiving Day food?
my dressing4. Do you stuff yourself or eat in moderation?
While everyone is here I eat in moderation, but after they are all gone and I've rested then I tend to stuff myself lol5. The day after Thanksgiving is suppose to be "the biggest shopping day of the year", do you go shopping on that day?
When I can get out of going, no! I actually haven't shopped the day after in several yearsPosted by Aretha @ 10:15 PM CST [Link]

It's been pretty quiet around here today, Greg has worked outside and then Waymond came out and they went to KY again. We just got done watching the Bama game and now Waymond has gone home.
I managed to add some of the make-up assignments to my homework today too. I tried to take a shot of my desks, but I kept getting glare, guess I should leave the camera work to Greg lol
I've been trying to do some Christmas & Anniversary shopping online today, but haven't been able to really find what I'm looking for. I have a list of Precious Moments that would be perfect for Greg, I make the list and then hit Ebay to see if I can find any of them lol, and so far I've only found one, and I wouldn't even bother to bid because they didn't offer insurance *sigh*
I got pretty disappointed hunting stuff for Angela too! I've searched Disney and just a general search, but apparently they aren't making JoJo's Circus toys yet. Little Mimi thinks JoJo is too cool lol and now here I sit pulling my hair out because I can't find the one thing she asked for :(
Bradley and Chantaye still haven't told me what they want, so I'm stuck there, I swear those two are like me, "I don't know" is the standard answer no matter what the question lolPosted by Aretha @ 10:23 PM CST [Link]

Can you believe it, this makes 3 days in a row! lol I think I'll try to break my old record of 5 days posting in a row lol
I am so glad it's Friday and that I don't have to get up in the morning. I got up with a monster migraine, for those that don't know I have a non-stop headache for over 2 years now, anyway, when I got up it was all I could do to keep my eyes open because of the light. I finally got the kids ready and got them dropped off, came back home and rested on the couch while Angela ate.
Greg made a very quick trip to town to get some paint and stuff for outside, and he started painting as soon as he got back home. Angela heard him outside and the poor child got all worked up, she came flying over to me, "Ghost-ess mommy, ghost-ess" lol I took her to look out her bedroom window so she could see there were no "ghost-ess" lol when she saw it was just daddy she was ready to play in her crib so she could watch him.I cooked tonight for a change ;) I fixed barbecue chicken, potato salad, stove top (takes too long to make my home-made dressing) and mac & cheese. I still have to wash dishes and stuff now that everyone is asleep, I may just let them wait tho and try to fall asleep while Greg is asleep on the couch, cause if he wakes up and actually gets in the bed I may have to feed him his pillow the way he's snoring rofl

Today has been a very good day! why? Well, I'm not sure really lol I didn't sleep a wink last night, and only took a small nap today but I am in a great mood and have accomplished alot!
I started the day by folding and putting away a load of clothes, then I did 2 more loads of laundry, and washed dishes all before Greg got home this morning, and will probably do one more load of laundry before I go to bed. I redecorated here, working on a few pages to upload, just don't have them quite finished yet since I have to pull so much off of cds, and of course it's not on just one cd lolI finally joined Ms. Darylynn's Homework too :) the link is right yonder on the left. I've been wanting to join for ages but was afraid I wouldn't be able to keep up and stuff. I'm kinda excited, can ya tell? lol I know I've got alot of catching up to do, but I'm sure I can catch up eventually ;)
I was supposed to cook today when Greg got home from work, but with my back being all messed up he cooked for me again, that makes twice this week. I love it when he cooks! He fixed pork chops, mac & cheese, stove top and I had some left over baby potatoes with mine. I don't usually eat pork chops, but there's something about Greg cooking that makes me eat lol I need to find a way for his cooking to make me lose weight instead of gaining it tho lol
How many online friends do you have?
a few, I guess lolHow many online friends have you talked to in real life via phone or met in person?
I've only talked to I think 3 on the phone, I've met 3 from a long time agoHave you ever had a disagreement with an online friend?
it was more of a misunderstanding than anythingHow much information about yourself do you give to your online friends such as name, address and phone number and if you do, how safe do you feel doing this?
I've only done that with a couple of people, but the address is my p.o. boxDo you know anyone who has been harassed/threatened by a person on the internet?
yes, unfortunately :(Have you ever thought that someone was playing a role online and not what they say they are?
yesTell any experiences that you would like to share.
Most of my online experiences have been good. It has helped me to meet so many people and to come out of my shell (yes I really am shy in person), and I've formed bonds that I never thought would be possible except in person.Posted by Aretha @ 07:19 PM CST [Link]

I am beyond tired, I am plumb tuckered out! I haven't slept worth a flip in a coon's age, and now my back is acting up and keeping me awake even more. The heating pad has once again become my best friend but it's not doing it's job, lol ever notice that when you use a heating pad it can burn you up in one spot but you never really feel the heat exactly where you need it? I told Greg when my rich uncle gets out of the poor-house I'm getting me one of those heat/massage chairs lol
I admit when I lay around like third-base I tend to think too much lol
Have ya'll seen that commercial for the "flu-shot" nasal spray stuff? OMG! are there men that are really as incompetent as the dad in that commercial? Yes, this is really something that is bugging me lol I mean I know men are generally slower than women on alot of things, maybe I live in dream or something, but my Greg would keel over if he saw a laundry room looking like the one in that commercial, he might not do things exactly the way I do them, and yes I have to get the kids clothes ready for school (when he has taken them to school), and no he doesn't realize I have to do everything for Bradley to get him ready, but in general he's pretty capable lol the guy on tv looks about as helpful as a mud-pile rofl! sorry I don't really mean to ramble on and on about such idiotic things ;)

Well it's been another cold and annoying day here at the asylum. I didn't sleep worth a flip last night and was still awake at 2:15, needless to say this made me grumpier than grumpy! I got up this morning and sat in the living room for a few minutes trying to have a conversation with the zombie known as Greg lol, he was watching tv and not listening so I went on back to bed. I took a nap and then got up and took him to pick his truck up in town, then we hit McDonald's right quick and I brought the two sickies home with me while he went to his grandparent's to take the air-conditioners out and fix a light or something lol yeah, I know I don't listen real well either rofl
I finally managed to visit almost all of my reads tonight, those that have posted lately anyway lol, so I'm gonna curl up under the covers and finish my book and hope I can get a little more sleep than I got last night. Stay warm ya'll!

It's official, I am surrounded by the ickys! Chantaye was like 2 minutes away from catching the bus this morning when she got sick, poor thing it just hit her out of nowhere. The fever spiked this afternoon and she was absolutely burning hot! I seldom use any of the thermometers when the kids have a fever because half the time they show lower than the norm. I gave her some chewable children's Motrin and luckily that was all it took to get the fever down, she even felt like playing video games later too which is definitely a good sign :) Greg drug out the Dreamcast the other day and hooked it back up for me, and so far I haven't touched it, but 'Taye had a ball playing Crazy Taxi lol I know Dreamcast is old and not the "in" thing anymore, but the kids have never been big gamers so it always seemed pointless to get anything else lol shoot I still have an old Super Nintendo rofl
I took Angela to mom's today to try to avoid her getting sick since her room is right next to 'Taye's.
Mom gave me a cute lil magnetic calendar to stick on the fridge with some pretty darker pink roses with a lil poem on it. Mom found a poem somewhere and gave it to me and asked me to draw something to go with it and then print it up for her, so now I've had to break out my thinking cap to try and come up with something for her. (she forgets how dangerous it is for me to think lol)1. Using one adjective, describe your current living space.
cluttered!2. Using two adjectives, describe your current employer.
quiet, invisible? rofl3. Using three adjectives, describe your favorite hobby/pasttime.
quiet, interesting, creative4. Using four adjectives, describe your typical day.
busy, loud lol, funny, tiring5. Using five adjectives, describe your ideal life.

It has been a wild and wooly week here, with yesterday being the worst. Bradley was home sick again and he was just so difficult I didn't know which end was up most of the day. Chantaye brought home some work for him to do so after Greg left for work we got cracking, he was really cooperative and I only had to repeat myself a few times, usually he is just impossible when it comes to homework. We got thru several of the pages and then had to do one about Mary had a little lamb, well he said he hadn't learned that at school yet, I couldn't remember all of it, only the first part, Chantaye couldn't remember it, so I finally found it online, but Bradley was cracking up because it was driving me insane that I could only remember the first couple of lines lol I got all of his papers together ready to put in his folder so he could go to school today and told him it was time for medicine and bed, well when we get in there he won't take his medicine to save my life no matter what I said or did, well he finally started to take it, or so I thought, and don't you know he ended up spitting out the whole mess all over his bedroom floor! I could've croaked! I finally got it all cleaned up, cause don't you know he didn't spit it in one spot he made a whole trail across the floor *sigh* I went and got the medicine in those lil syringes and was gonna give it to him that way, and bless my silly soul if he didn't bite down so hard to keep from taking it that he bit a hole in his lip! I swear I thought I was gonna have to take him to the ER, but I finally got the bleeding stopped, so now I'm just gonna keep him home til Monday because I'm afraid he would end up getting crud in it and getting it infected and then miss even more school *sigh*
I'm gonna actually do my Tattle on time this week! shocking huh? lol then I'm gonna cuddle under the quilt and watch a bit of tv and probably drag the laptop over so I can get caught up on some emails. We are under a big ol freeze alert thingy tonight, the windchill was 30 when Greg left at 6:30 so I really think under the quilt is the best place to be tonight lol
How long have you had your blog?
Since August 2002, I thinkIs your blog a secret?
naw lolHow many people know your blog exists?
I'm not sureIf your blog is a secret has it ever been discovered by someone that you didn't want to see it?
I think my inlaws may have seen it, and I didn't want them to lolWhy do you have a blog?
now that's a very good question..I guess because it helps me unwind and share little things about myself and my lifeHow did you discover that blogs existed on the internet?
I actually just happened to stumble over one ages ago, back before it was so popularHave you ever thought on password protecting it to be safe but just have not done so?
yes, actually i haveDo you really tell your true feelings in your blog or do you hold back sometimes?
I tend to hold back on somethings because I'm afraid I would offend someone, and ya never know when those pesky inlaws might go surfing lolPosted by Aretha @ 08:46 PM CST [Link]

I really had planned to post before now, and had tried, but it just didn't work out well.
Friday morning Bradley got up sick but would not stay home from school, he was still sick when he came home and then Saturday he was absolutely burning up with fever, I finally got his fever down after washing the bottoms of his feet with alcohol. Sunday Angela got sick, her fever hasn't been as bad as Bradley's was and she doesn't have the cough as bad as he does but she sure has the upset tummy. I got sick Sunday night from all the wonderful germies, so far 'Taye is the only one that feels ok, Greg is getting the cough again, and I swear I don't think I could stand him being home sick for another week! I took the kids to school yesterday, Bradley still wouldn't stay home, but when he came home he looked and sounded terrible, so I literally forced the child to stay home today, the only way I could do it was to have Greg take 'Taye in late since we didn't get up in time for the bus, it runs at 6:20-6:30. Greg called me from the school and told me that they told him there were 120 kids absent today in this school alone! I can't even imagine how many were out county-wide, shoot there are like 9 or 10 other schools in this county, I lost track lol. I wish they would do things here like they do in Knoxville, shoot if there were that many kids absent they would close for the rest of the week, but not us! oh no, they apparently love to torture us moms lol

I am a walking disaster this week! I have managed to once again drop that stupid glass full of water on my foot, I've walked into walls & doors, tripped over my own feet and anything else that happens to be touching the floor, even tripped over my own bed, I spilled Angela's full bottle of milk all over the floor where the kitchen and living room meet, the only thing I haven't done so far is fall in the shower, but give me time the week isn't quite over yet lol I'm thinking maybe it would be a good idea to get one of those warning beeping thingies so people know to run for cover rofl
It's been a pretty quiet week, the only thing that has really changed is now my legs are swollen *sigh* as if my legs aren't big enough, now they are ballooned up and even my sweat pants are tight. I really need to get off my big fat lazy tush and exercise and get back down to the weight I used to be, I think that "walking away the pounds" sounds like it works, but I live out in the sticks and wouldn't feel comfortable walking on either the side road or the main road, folks seem to think it's Daytona International out here..I know several of you ladies are using this program, where do ya'll walk? just like on your streets, a track or what? Well enough of my rambling, it's tv night so I'm off to be a lump ;) lolHow would you describe how your home is decorated?
hmm, well there isn't really a theme or anything, to me it's just stuff that is comfyHow do you normally dress?
Jeans & T-shirts or flannel shirts in winterHow do you style your hair?
Well, my bangs are feathered most of the time, sometimes i wear a headband to change it a little, if I'm staying home tho 99% of the time I wear it in a ponytailDo want a different hair style?
Sometimes I think I do lol I kinda want to go blonde or at least lighter than what it is naturally, and I wouldn't mind having "small" bangs instead of the big onesIs your house how you want it or do you want to change it?
Well, for starters I'd like for it to be "my" house, but when we get our house closer to work it will be totally different, I want it to be pretty and maybe a lil frilly but comfy lol I know that doesn't make alot of sense but it's hard to explainPosted by Aretha @ 07:24 PM CST [Link]

I'm sure you're all wondering, "why does this dingbat even have a blog?" good question! lol I really don't have a better explanation than life has just been so..whatever lately..and now on top of everything else depression has set in and I can't seem to shake that either. anyhow, I'm sure you don't want to hear all about that mess so I'll move on now...
We took the kids to the mall in Cookeville for halloween, we only went to 2 houses, both in Monterey, one is a guy Greg carpools with and then we went over to their next-door neighbors, ya know it's sad that things are so dangerous nowdays, back when we were younger it was "normal" to go most anywhere but now you have to worry constantly, it really was easier this way tho, we only had to get the kids out three times lol I'll try to post the pics in a few days, I haven't gotten them cropped and resized yet (I know slower than molasses) Lil Angela went as a lady bug and she was just so cute I wish she could wear the outfit just for the heck of it lol
Well guess I'll head off to bed shortly, I gotta go to the dentist again tomorrow, I swear it seems like when I'm not in bed sick I'm at the dentist, makes me wish I had been born with dentures ;) lolPosted by Aretha @ 10:28 PM CST [Link]

I know, I am the worst blogger that has ever lived! I didn't mean to go so long without posting, but I really do have a very good reason..lots of em actually. I have barely been out of bed all month, I've had health problems for years and they have been hitting me extremely hard lately. It only takes a couple of sentences to sum up the entire month of October, and that is if I ramble..My mom had to have some skin cancer removed a couple weeks or so ago, the usual follow-up report from that hasn't come thru yet, and then today I had to go to the funeral home, my mom's sister's husband died, so today was pretty hard for me just going to the funeral home even tho I couldn't stay for the service.
