12/27/2003 Archived Entry: "Hidden Hollow"

Whew mercy me I'm tired. We just got back from Kentucky and taking the girls to Hidden Hollow to see the Christmas Lights, course the lights stay up down there til like February or so. On the way up to Kentucky 'Taye got sick in the car, just sick not car sick, she had a fever crop up out of nowhere, I finally got her cleaned up enough to get back in the car. We had to try and find a store to get her some new clothes, and we barely found a thin long sleeved shirt to fit her, they didn't have many kids clothes at all *sigh*, all they had close by was a Dollar Store, and that was probably 10 miles or so away from where we had pulled over. When we got her changed and stuff then we went and grabbed some drinks and I gave her a sick pill, she said she felt well enough to head on down to Cookeville, so to stay off the curvey roads that sounded like a good plan. It wasn't as cold down there as I thought it would be, but it was still cold enough to make ya glad when you got back in the car.
The girls were just so fascinated with the live deer and all the other animals, they didn't get real excited over the ostriches tho, course why would they lol those have to be some of the laziest things I've ever seen lol the deer just sat there and let them pet away :) When we were on the lower level all the deer were up at the top and lil Angela yelled out, "Hey you deer! Come down here now!" and bless my soul but the one with the smallest antlers got up and lumbered right down to where we were, now how sweet was that :) then when we took them up to the top, Angela says, "I wanna do sugars", well don't you know the one they were petting turned and tried to kiss her hand, I think it was more like smelling her hand, but to her it was a deer sugar :)
This mommy is heading to bed very soon, carrying my lil sweet pea has got my back really complaining now lol

Hi Aretha, Happy Sunday. What a lovely day you had except for 'Taye getting sick. I hope she's feeling much better today. Around here they usually keep their outside lights on for a couple of weeks after Christmas. One or two never take them down and are ready for next year. LOL! Have a wonderful day my friend and thanks again for your thoughtfulness and gifts. (Hugs)
