Just a quick little post to let ya'll know that I'm stil around. I have been super lazy and busy all at the same time lately.
We had a MAJOR! storm and had all sorts of damage..there were at least 3 trees down on the barn, in the front we had 1 apple tree uprooted, and a massive tree snapped like a twig, luckily it fell away from the house instead of on it! we had roof damage on the house and barn..the power went off at like 10 that night and I still don't know what time it actually came back on here, I do know it took like 3 days to get the power on at my mom's in town. We called around hunting a generator and we finally got lucky and called a friend that owns a Kawasaki dealership here and he had 1 left in the store! He said he would hold it until we got there so here we go zooming in to pick it up, let me tell ya I am still miffed over having to fork out that kind of cash! he gave us a great discount because we know him so well, but dangit I could've spent money on so many other things! I guess I should just be glad the vehicles made it thru without any damage. It ended up taking Greg & Waymond like 12 hours or so to get the majority of the clean-up and repairs done, but we still haven't been able to burn all the trees and stuff.

Last weekend we went to Knoxville to look for some pants for 'Taye but so far we still haven't had any luck finding anything other than bell-bottoms (boot-cut) or hip huggers, and those are strictly against dress code, hopefully we can find some when we go to PA next week!
While we were in Knoxville Greg surprised me by wanting to go jewelry shopping and he bought me a new diamond! I am tickled pink and on cloud nine with my new ring! I never saw it coming! I'm beginning to like surprises more and more lol

We are leaving Saturday for a cabin in the mountains and some us time, unfortunately we will be coming back on Monday or Tuesday for a few hours to unpack and then repack and then pick up all the kids and head off to PA to see his mom. I soo don't want to go, but it looks like there's no getting out of it now lol
The kids will be missing the first day of school because we will still be gone, but I look at it like this..what could they possibly miss in 2 hours?! I think it's just downright idiotic to be starting school this early! I don't know what is wrong with this town, they start earlier and go longer every blooming year, maybe they plan it that way to annoy people and to try and ruin vacations lol

I'm off to do more laundry and maybe wash the dishes, there are only a few so I may let them wait awhile, dishes at 5 am is such a boring thought lol

Hi Aretha,
What a storm. We went to visit my inlaws the weekend of the 14th in Louisville and they'd had a storm the Tues before and lost their power. We didn't get it back until Friday night. (3 days no power). Thankfully it was cool. Had that been here in Florida we'd of died from the heat. Glad you're all okay. There have been some pretty nasty storms that way this summer.

Wowsers! I'm glad you all made it through the storm ok. That stinks about having to pay for the generator, but at least you still have your house and your vehicles.

Good luck finding Taye's clothes. It seems like all they are making these days for the little girls are the kinds of clothes you're finding!

Have fun on your trip!!

Hi Aretha! I am so glad to see you updated! Was it a tornado that passed thru? That is a lot of damage? Will your insurance cover anything? Have a good trip and enjoy, or I should say trips! LOL Huggies!
